Shopper Behaviour – News from ID Magasin

ID Magasin's founder, Siemon Scamell-Katz, was seen on BBC TV again this week, advising on shopper behaviour. Siemon demonstrated to BBC1 viewers how Eye Mark recording reveals sub-conscious behaviour.

This is fundamentally important to both manufacturers and retailers as up to 80% of shopping decisions are sub-consciously controlled. The supermarket is one of the most visually busy environments on the planet. Of the visual stimuli that assail a shopper during a typical supermarket trip, only about 1% reaches the brain's sensory buffer store and of this, only about 5% enters short term memory.

If you would like to discuss the implications of this - or see the programme, part of the 'Shopping the Supermarkets' series - please contact Gemma Steward on 01858 461461 or at gs@idmagasin.com
